Adult Education

Laveena Vikas Seva Sansthan is running 26 adult education centres in remote tribal areas to make adults literate. Each centre caters to 40 adults, with total coverage being 1,040 adults.

Adult Education Centres started on Teachers’ Day on 5 September 2024. All the educational activities are entered into the portal regularly. There is an ‘akshar sathi’ at each centre, who has taught the adults so much that they can sign, read books and do simple calculations.

The fillip to set up the education centres came from the observation that the illiterate face mountains of problems in their livelihood. When they went to withdraw money, the e-mitras used to excess amount from their account and handed over lesser amount to them. Sometimes, lands of the illiterate tribals were usurped by the literate rich people.
