Who We Are
Laveena Vikas Sewa Sansthan is a non-governmental organisation, registered under the Rajasthan Societies Registration Act 1958. It is committed to overall development of the backward and weak tribals, women, children and destitute by providing them requisite support.
LVSS was founded by a highly energetic, zealous and motivated youth Bharat Kumar Purbiya. He dreams of establishment of high-quality life and society. The organisation was registered on 22 May 2003.
The organisation began its activities by granting admission to four tribal boys in Laveena Public Boarding, Jhadol. These boys had become unsuccessful continuously for four times in class 10 board exam. At that time no school was ready to grant admission to these boys. But the organisation’s director had faith in these boys and got them admitted to the Krishi Pandit Sanwarmal Sedmal Tribal School being run by Rajasthan Vidyapeeth. The boys passed the exam with good marks.
LVSS started private school at Gejvi and Som in the tribal area with a view to provide English and computer education to the children. It ran special child labour training centres at Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Bhilwada, Dausa and Baran districts for eradication of child labour under a project of the Ministry of Labour, Government of India.
The organisation is running an open shelter home at Ongana for destitute BT Cotton children since 21 September 2017. The journey of the shelter home has been very bumpy as the organisation never got grant sanctioned to it by the Government. The organisation filed a case in the High Court, which ruled in the organisation’s favour. But the money is yet to come in and contempt proceedings are going on.
It is also running a deaf and dumb residential school at the district headquarters. Apart from this, the organisation is reaching relief and help to widow and destitute women in the tribal area through women alert team.
The organisation sees an India that is child labour free by providing support to the destitute children, becoming voice of deaf and dumb children, and providing help, safety and relief to each poor, destitute and widow woman.
